Never Take No for an Answer Reviews

This film tells the touching story of an orphaned Italian boy and his pet donkey. The boy befriends American troops, and after returning to the States, they send him a parcel with the advice that he never take "no" for an answer. This motto lays the groundwork for the rest of the film. The donkey becomes ill and the boy persists in bringing it to the tomb of St. Francis, the patron saint of animals. Eventually, after meeting with the Pope, the boy is permitted to take his pet to the tomb. Manunta, as the boy, gives a charming performance, proving to be a natural actor.
