McLaughlin is a detective who catches on to a forgery ring. He gets Hill to go to prison in order to crack the gang. If that's not improbable enough for a plot twist, poor Hill finds upon his release three years later that his girl (Gray) has hitched up with the gang's ruler, Perrins. McLaughlin saves Hill from being hanged by the gang in this witless, utterly implausible story.
