Muscle-man Reeves stars as the title swashbuckler in this fairly well-made adventure film detailing the life of the famed pirate, beginning with his enslavement by the Spaniards in Panama. He is soon sold to Lagrange, who is the daughter of the governor, and he falls in love with her. As punishment for his insolence, Reeves is sent off to a life of hard labor on board a Spanish galleon. Eventually Reeves leads a mutiny and becomes a pirate raiding the Spanish for the British. Not satisfied, Reeves pushes on to Panama where he gets his revenge on the governor by capturing the capital city and the heart of his daughter. Fast-paced and nicely produced.
