Mischief Reviews

An apparent public penchant for youth-oriented pictures--in an age where young people are the most avid moviegoers and an increasing proportion of old folks simply stay at home--made another nostalgia film inevitable. This one combines elements of AMERICAN GRAFFITI, GREASE, and PORKY'S with a liberal dose of TV's popular sitcom "Happy Days" in relating the 1950s story of nerd Jonathan (Doug McKeon). With the help of slick-headed cyclist Gene (Chris Nash), a town newcomer, Jonathan pursues the charms of haughty Marilyn (Kelly Preston). Malt shops, drive-ins, and homages to films of the 1950s abound here, evoking initial MISCHIEF reviewers to refer to the imagery of Norman Rockwell.
