MIDNIGHT TEASE 2 is equally inadequate as thriller and soft-core porn. It's got silly choreographed pole dances that are nude versions of schlocky early '80s music videos; a plot even more flimsy than the costumes; and a script that contains more stripping than talking. The film is centered around lovely Jen Brennan (Kimberly Kelley), whose go-go dancer sister was murdered by a serial killer in the original MIDNIGHT TEASE. With the aid of John Donnelly (Ross Hagen) a wheelchair-bound detective, Jen goes undercover at the L.A. strip club where her sister was murdered, in the hopes of catching the killer. Jen meets various suspects at the club. Meanwhile, the killer continues to knock off strippers by luring them into private lap dances, only to suffocate them with plastic bags. John ominously warns Jen, "Don't trust anybody." Joe (Brett Baxter Clark), who has a history of beating up strippers, hires Jen to dance. Bouncer Frankie (Lenny Juliano) promises to protect Jen from patrons who can't keep it in their laps. Jen's peers include top stripper Cherry (Julie K. Smith) and Lacy (Tane McClure), the maternal bartender. Everyone is surprised by how well novice Jen takes to her new profession. She's deemed "a real natural," and given special attention by the club's most popular regular, handsome artist Paul Douglas (Jack Turturici). Thankfully, before we even have time to wonder if Paul is the killer, John clears up that mystery. We are told that another murder took place while Paul was in bed with Jen. John is convinced that Jen can trap the murderer by uncovering his "trigger"--whatever provokes the killer to kill. Finally, Jen rubs up against a clue. It seems that Joe, the owner, has sent the victims, who all happen to have been mothers, out to private parties at the same address. Jen reveals her true identity and her suspicions about Joe to Lacy, only to discover moments later that the address is Lacy's. In homage to BASIC INSTINCT, and a host of other lesbian killer movies, Lacy suddenly appears dressed as a man and wielding a plastic bag. An undercover cop saves Jen from death by suffocation. The "trigger" is revealed during the synthetic epilogue, in which John conveniently tells us that Lacy was abused by her mother as a child, which is why she only chooses mothers as her victims. This is as ironic as the film gets. MIDNIGHT TEASE 2 teases us with the promise of eroticism and mystery, but all it delivers are mechanical lessons in lap dancing and a plot as artificial as the actresses' breasts.
