Christie is a character in the postnuclear-holocaust future. She is torn between the social decay she sees around her and her Victorian fantasy world. The climax is her walking through her wall into the past in this feeble attempt at adapting Lessing's oversymbolic science fiction novel. As fine an actress as Christie is, she just can't overcome the silliness of some of this film's scenes. One hopes she will soon find a role that serves her as well as PETULIA or DON'T LOOK NOW.
