Melinda Reviews

A blaxploitation film that attempts to treat the characters with intelligence, but fails because of a weak script. Lockhart, a hip, narcissistic deejay, plots revenge after his girl friend, McGee, is brutally murdered in his apartment. With the help of Cash, Lockhart tries to learn why McGee was killed and who was behind it. He discovers a tape recording that ties mobster Stevens to the assassination of a union leader. McGee possessed the tape and paid for it with her life. The film has an excess of violence (which goes hand-in-hand with the genre) and some fine karate work by Kelly, a businessman who comes to Lockhart's aid. Also, the film makes an attempt, however weak, at romance between Lockhart and Cash.
