A French Riviera matchmaker attepmts to pair a poor duke and a wealthy race-car driving heiress. The work includes improve the duke's English and manners, and hiring a retired champion racer to teach him how to drive. Based on the book "The Grand Duke and Mr. Pimm" by Lindsay Hardy.

Boyer plays a matchmaker on the French Riviera, trying to wed heiress Lange to Montalban, who's been groomed for the part. Ford is hired by Boyer as Lange's chauffeur and to help Montalban. In the process, however, Lange and Ford fall for each other--with everyone else winding up in love too. LOVE IS A BALL was filmed on location on the Riviera. Though the naive script lacks believability, expert performances make this picture entertaining.
