This is the last film the Marx Brothers made as a team, and though it suffers from a script that does little to develop the story, the film shines with Marx Bros. humor. The story revolves around the search by detective Groucho for some diamonds that have been stashed in a sardine can. Also in search of the diamonds is the ruthless Massey and her gang. When the sardine can turns up at a grocery store, Harpo steals it to feed the group of downtrodden performers he is helping to sustain. Massey tracks the can to the group and decides to sponsor the troupe in hopes of getting her hands on the sardine can. Story suffers from uneven pacing, and comic situations which are overly contrived. As always, the Marx Brothers deliver outstanding performances. The film includes a brief walk-on by Marilyn Monroe.
