Louisiana Gal Reviews

Dull Keene frontier saga featuring the star as the American representative in the then-Spanish territory of Louisiana. Outraged by the Spaniards' attempts to halt river-based trade, Keene travels to Washington to talk with the President. The Spanish, however, plan to keep him from Washington. Look for a very young Rita Hayworth (then known as Cansino) as the daughter of the Spanish governor. It was her fifth film appearance, and when a clever distributor came across a print of OLD LOUISIANA at the height of Hayworth's popularity in the mid-1940s, he retitled it LOUISIANA GAL and gave her star billing.
