London Town Reviews

Field is an old-time British music hall comic who returns to London believing he is going to be the star of a new revue. Upon arrival, he's disappointed to learn that he's only an understudy. His daughter, Clark, manages to fool the headliner into missing the opening, ensuring Field a chance to strut his talents. He does and is a big hit. The film, however, was not. Overlong and overblown, this was to become one of the biggest commercial disasters of Britain's postwar film industry.
