Les Maudits Reviews

In the closing days of World War II, a number of Nazi officials and various hangers-on flee Oslo in a U-boat, trying to make their way to South America. Along the way they are attacked by a destroyer and depth-charged. Marly, the wife of the count (Giachetti) and the mistress of the German general (Kronefeld), is wounded in the attack, so the submarine lands on the French coast where the escapees kidnap the doctor (Vidal). He realizes the danger he is in and begins sowing the seeds of defeatism and despair among the passengers. Quite an interesting drama confined almost totally to one set, with very good performances by the entire cast, but we've been spoiled by Hitchcock and Tallulah Bankhead's alliance on LIFEBOAT.
