L'Africain Reviews

While scouting a resort site in Central Africa, travel executive Deneuve runs into old flame Noiret, who is the majordomo, store owner, and pilot for a one-man airline in the village she selects. Ancient animosities flare, then the two draw closer to each other. Their affair is interrupted by a gang of vicious ivory poachers who abduct Deneuve. Noiret goes after them in a well-filmed chase sequence, mows down the bad guys, and frees his blonde paramour. Stereotypes abound--jungle pursuits, the cutting of a rope bridge to which Noiret desperately clings, a lot of hysterical pygmies running amuck.
