Kerouac, the Movie Reviews

A visual and audio collage, KEROUAC combines old footage of the renowned beat-generation writer, readings of his work, and observations by his contemporaries (including Allen Ginsberg), along with staged re-creations of the events in Jack Kerouac's life. Similar to 1981's THIS IS ELVIS in technique, the film is too reverent toward its subject and never accurately captures the spirit Kerouac brought to his life and to those around him.
