Eugeniusz Chylek plays Johnny, an orphaned child who dreams of returning to his native Poland, but whose attempts to accomplish this feat only get him into a great deal of hot water. Jewel thieves decide to put him to use in several robberies, and the lad doesn't see through their schemes until it's almost too late. Luckily, he happens upon a small village filled with people from all over the world who take him in and protect him against the evil forces that are after him. This well-paced film is particularly strong in its realistic depiction of children.
