It Happened Tomorrow Reviews

Powell is a novice newsman who miraculously foretells the news one day in advance. Befriended by the newspaper's recently deceased librarian, Powell is given the next day's events in the form of a newspaper. The first day, he reads of a holdup and conveniently shows up on the scene. On the second day, he turns to the horse racing page and decides which picks to put his money on. The third day, however, has him reading his own obituary. He tries to avoid the hotel lobby where he is slated to die, but inevitably winds up there. A second twist of fate has him live through the day, followed by a lengthy marriage to lovely spiritualist Darnell who keeps him winning at the track. Directed by the acclaimed French Director Clair (A NOUS LA LIBERTE [1931], AND THEN THERE WERE NONE [1945]). The film earned Oscar nominations for its sound and score.
