Island Monster Reviews

Karloff, an elderly fellow concerned with keeping his nursery open, gets involved in a kidnaping case. Narcotics investigator Marzi is tracking a gang of smugglers who are operating from a small island. In an attempt to get him off their trail, the gang abducts Marzi's daughter (Remiddi). Karloff offers to help but is soon discovered to be the leader of the gang. It's not long, however, before the police drag them all into jail. Karloff and the kid are a joy to watch, but the film as a whole is full of holes. Its US release saw the film, in its original Italian version, being shown only in Italian-language moviehouses. By the time it reached TV, it had been dubbed.
