In Old Santa Fe Reviews

When some gangsters from the city arrive, they set up dude ranch hand Maynard for a frame. He loses his beloved horse Tarzan in a fixed race and gets blamed for a murder. Naturally, everything is righted at the end. This was Maynard's only film done at Mascot and was much more accomplished than any of his serials done at the larger Universal and Columbia studios. It is also famous for the film debut of radio cowpuncher Autry, along with sidekick Burnette. Autry set his pattern early: his songs get in the way of the story line.
