Ankrum is the black hat in this film, which centers around a feud over water rights. Sparked by Ankrum's scheming, a pair of ranchers are at odds while bandits hope to swallow up their lands after the two kill each other off. Boyd and his buddies come along and, as expected, deep-drill Ankrum's lawlessness.
