Idol of the Crowds Reviews

Trading his six-shooter for a slap shot, John Wayne manages to exude toughness as Johnny Hanson, a virtuous Maine chicken farmer who takes a stab at professional hockey in order to earn enough money to keep from losing his spread. His brother Bobby (Billy Burrud) also earns a spot on the team, but their lives become complicated when crooks try to get the Hansons to purposely blow some games. What's more, pretty Helen Dale (Sheila Bromley) tries to ruin Johnny's play by turning his head, but by the finale, it's she who lets romance prevent her from doing her job.
