Hotel for Women Reviews

A 16-year-old Darnell made her movie debut here as a young girl from Syracuse who travels to the Big Apple to visit her boy friend, Ellison, now a successful architect in the big city. Unfortunately, he is no longer interested in the disappointed Darnell. While boarding in a women's hotel, Darnell is encouraged by the other guests to show Ellison what she's made of and make him wish he never left her. She does just that by becoming a famous fashion model. This finally renews Ellison's interest, except now he has to fight to get her back. Famed Gotham gossip monger and party-giver Maxwell penned this one and also appeared before the cameras to dispense her own advice. It was during the making of this film that teenaged Darnell met cameraman Marley, whom she later married.
