He Stayed for Breakfast Reviews

Given the choice between communism and capitalism, Melvyn Douglas chooses the former. Cast as a red in Paris, he takes a shot at a banker and is pursued by the police. He ducks into the apartment of Young, who lets him use her place as a shelter. She soon reveals that she is the banker's ex-wife. She becomes more and more fascinated with the Commie and begins to show him the benefits of Western civilization--croissants and capitalism. Of course Douglas renounces his Commie ways and opts for the city on the Seine.
