Hardly Working Reviews

Making a comeback after 10 years away from the screen in this bad movie, Jerry Lewis brings little that is new to his inspired/insipid (depending on your perspective) juvenile antics. Here he portrays Bo Hooper, an unemployed clown who lives with his sister (Susan Oliver). She gets him a series of jobs, all of which he bungles, then he inexplicably gets serious and holds forth on the foibles of mankind. With a tired, contrived script overmugged by its star, HARDLY WORKING hardly works.
