Gidget Goes Hawaiian Reviews

The great appeal of Dee, the original GIDGET (1959), is lost in this innocuous sequel. Taking her place is Deborah Walley, who does a fair job as Darren's displeased girl friend. She takes off to Hawaii with her parents and has some fun in the sun with a group of well-tanned beach bums. Darren complicates things when he surprises Walley with a visit. Fred Karger and Stanley Styne provided a pair of tunes: "Gidget Goes Hawaiian" and "Wild About That Girl." One more sequel followed, GIDGET GOES TO ROME (1963).
