Gangway for Tomorrow Reviews

Five people work in a defense plant during WW II, pooling a ride together in Arnt's car. Arnt thinks he knows each of them but finds his assumptions are way off. Using flashbacks and narration, the stories of Margo, Ryan, Ward, Bell, and Carradine are revealed. Margo was a French underground fighter who escaped to America and works in the plant to help her countrymen. Ryan, a race-car driver, has racetrack injuries that kept him from joining the Air Corps. Ward is a "Miss America" who becomes disillusioned with her world. Bell is a prison warden who had to execute his own brother, and hobo Carradine decided to do something worthwhile for a change. Though wartime propaganda, this attempt at interweaving separate stories is entertaining. For you compound flashback fans, this is another gem, with flashbacks within flashbacks.
