Five Against the House Reviews

Five college students, led by Madison, work out the perfect plan to rob a Reno casino, more as a joke or intellectual feat until Keith, who is heavily in debt and becoming mentally unbalanced, compels the group to go through with the crazy scheme. All in the cast are merely props to Keith's mentally askew character, a performance that is worth the whole film. Karlson's direction is top-drawer, in keeping with his superb film noir reputation. Silliphant's script is taut, literate, and accurate in portraying the follies of 1950s youth.
