Working on tips that a political commentator thought assassinated is living in Switzerland, rival reporters Milland and Cummings discover him, but both fall in love with his daughter (Henie). Torn between the woman they love and the story of a lifetime, Cummings gets the girl and Milland gets the exclusive. Henie does her thing on the ice a few times, but this film was designed to expand her image as a serious actress. It didn't do that, but it did make money, largely on the strength of her name.
