The Mandroid (Reynolds) is built of android parts grafted onto the shattered body of a pilot whose plane crashed in a remote Mexican jungle. His creator, mad scientist Dotrice, also has a time machine and a bizarre plot to rule ancient Rome. When Dotrice's use for the Mandroid is over, he orders Reynolds dismantled. Instead, Dotrice's Japanese assistant (Horino) helps the Mandroid escape and tells him to look for a colonel Crosby. Reynolds makes his way out of the jungle and back to the US and tracks down Crosby, a cybernetic scientist. She recognizes some of the technology used to build Mandroid as her own and decides to go along with him as he seeks revenge. They hire riverboat captain Prine to take them upriver to confront Dotrice. The acting is generally undistinguished, with the worst offenses committed by Crosby. The direction is listless, and many scenes seem to be missing or cut short. So what do we have here? We have robots, we have ninjas, we have a mad scientist, we have a beautiful lady scientist, we have cavemen, we have a cute little R2-D2 ripoff, we have bumbling henchmen. If this innocuous hodgepodge sounds like your cup of tea (don't be ashamed), you could do worse than ELIMINATORS.
