Earl Carroll Sketchbook Reviews

Low-budget try at a big-budget musical by Republic Studios sees Moore as a singer and Marshall as her talented songwriter boy friend who has sold out to write radio jingles. The resulting strained relationship requires much singing and dancing in order to be repaired. Songs include "Hittin' the Bottle," "I've Got a Right to Sing the Blues" (Harold Arlen, Ted Koehler), "I've Never Forgotten," "I Was Silly, Headstrong and Impetuous," "What Makes You Beautiful, Beautiful?" and "The Lady With a Mop" (Sammy Cahn, Jule Styne).
