This comedy was filmed in Naples and chronicles the struggle of two lovers trying to convince their socially disparate parents to let them marry. The young woman comes from a wealthy family while her lover comes from a poor one.

Lovers who have to battle to overcome family opposition is the basis for this romantic comedy shot in Naples. Maria Fiore stars as a woman who is deeply in love with a poor boy played by Vincenzo Musolino, who struggles to gain employment which will enable him to support her and to overcome her families forceful objections to the match. Based partially on an Italian folk tale, the film offers some gently comic moments.
