Don't Make Waves Reviews

Okay comedy with Curtis as a tourist who meets thrill-seeking Cardinale when she runs his car off the highway. She takes him to her Malibu home, and he learns that she is the mistress of swimming-pool dealer Webber. Curtis nearly drowns in the ocean and is rescued by skydiver Tate, who performs mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. Curtis falls in love with her and decides to stay in the area. He blackmails Webber into giving him a job while he tries to further his romance with Tate. Eventually everyone ends up in a house that is sliding toward the ocean in a rainstorm, and Curtis discovers that he really loves Cardinale. Director Mackendrick has done much better work (THE MAN IN THE WHITE SUIT; WHISKY GALORE; THE SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS) but he does give this film some energy, and Curtis gives a competent performance.
