Serial actor Byrd returns to his role as Tracy in this, the third of the cartoon-inspired features. In a premise reminiscent of the serial, Byrd stalks the Claw, the leader of a gang who stole a shipment of furs and killed a guard. The miscreant, wickedly portrayed by Lambert, is equipped with a steel hook in place of a hand. Justice is served when the Claw accidentally hooks the steel mitt onto a live trolley wire, zapping himself into ashes. Audience members fascinated by the outrageous violence in the Chester Gould comic strip love this finale.
