A rivalry between mother and daughter is the subject matter of this drama set in the acting world. Teasdale plays a very vain, selfish, and successful actress who keeps her daughter in a boarding school so she doesn't have to deal with the reality of having a 19-year-old child. Muir is the daughter who has been shunned by her mother since birth, and is now too old and independent to be kept boarded away just so Teasdale can feel young. She travels to New York to visit her mother and is accidentally confronted by one of Teasdale's greatest admirers, Brent, who, upon seeing the young woman, shifts his attentions to her. Teasdale, mainly from jealousy, tries to prevent her daughter and Brent from starting a romance. It's no use; love wins in the end as Brent weds young, innocent Muir.
