Desert Passage Reviews

In Holt's last oater for RKO (he did 46 of them), the sagebrush star is teamed with Martin as the operators of a bankrupt stagecoach line. They are hired by former bank robber Reed (who has just dug up $100,000 worth of loot) to drive him to Mexico. Not knowing he's a crook, Holt and Martin defend Reed against attacks by disgruntled members of his old gang who want their share of the dough. Holt figures things out, rounds up the bad guys, and returns the money to the daughter of the banker from whom it was stolen. This film provided a mediocre end to a series of westerns that occasionally produced a gem. Producer Schlom and director Selander also waved goodbye to RKO with this film.
