Thoughtless archaeology students accidentally disturb the grave of a Seminole Indian witch doctor, Tartu (Doug Hobart), who comes back to life and goes after the kids, alternately taking the form of a snake, a shark, an alligator, and a zombie. He kills his victims until he is swallowed up by quicksand, thus fulfilling an obscure native prophecy. The Florida Everglades, the film's location site, provide the quicksand for the chilling finale. This is only for the desperate.
