This musical centers around a puppet-maker and his lovely daughter. The trouble begins as the puppet-man's livelihood is threatened by a banker who wants to foreclose. The banker is ready to bargain though: he will forgive the debt if the puppet-maker's daughter will marry him. Both father and daughter are appalled at that prospect. They trick the banker by creating a life-size puppet of the daughter who meanwhile sneaks off to marry her real love, a forester working for the Duke.

Vapid musical stars Kueckelmann as the daughter of a puppet-maker threatened with foreclosure by banker Seyferth. The banker wants Kueckelmann in exchange for leaving her father alone, but he is duped with a life-sized puppet while Kueckelmann marries her true love, a forester in the service of the Duke. Some nice color photography almost makes this one watchable, though in the end it just sinks in its own sticky sentiment.
