Set on a South Sea island, the story concerns the adventures of a hermit-hero, Arlen, and girl violinist, Carroll. She has been hired to play at a resort on the island, but is pushed into entertaining the male guests. She does not like this kind of work and stows away on Arlen's skiff to get away from it all. There are five bad guys in the film. Three are after the gold Arlen allegedly has hidden away, and two are after Carroll. By the end of the film, all the baddies are either dead or in jail and it turns out that Arlen had no gold after all.
