Damien---Omen II Reviews

The first sequel to THE OMEN returns to the story with the young Antichrist Damien (Scott-Taylor) now 13 years old and living with his aunt and uncle (Grant and Holden). In short order, a series of mysterious accidents results in the deaths of a number of people who are suspicious of Scott-Taylor, including his elderly aunt (Sidney) and a nosy female reporter (Shepherd). When his uncle sends him to an exclusive military academy, Scott-Taylor reads the biblical book of Revelation and at last discovers his true identity. After eliminating his second set of relatives, he inherits an industrial empire, leaving the door open for an even worse sequel, THE FINAL CONFLICT--which, like this film, more or less rehashes the original rather than forging new ground. As in the FRIDAY THE 13TH movies the only real interest here is observing the outrageous lengths filmmakers go to in devising "Can-you-top-this?" murders.
