Czar of the Slot Machines Reviews

Nightclub singer Trevor gets involved with the sinister slot machine "czar" Tamiroff, who is guilty of killing her roommate, Burgess. Newsman Nolan can't be fooled, however, and he follows the clues that point to Tamiroff as the murderer. Director Florey does all he can with the feeble script but comes up with nothing more than mediocrity. Buried in the hefty cast is silent screen beauty Louise Brooks (PANDORA'S BOX, 1929), who had to endure just one more Poverty Row western before retiring from films in 1938. She kept a low profile in New York until her death in 1985.
