Crypt of the Living Dead Reviews

On Vampire Island, a professor is killed while excavating the tomb of Gimpera, wife of Louis VII, who was buried alive in 1269. Arriving at the site to investigate the death of his father, the professor's son uncovers the 700-year-old corpse of Gimpera, still in perfect condition. Shortly thereafter, the living Gimpera does her thing, and dead bodies begin to pile up. CRYPT OF THE LIVING DEAD was directed by actor Ray Danton, who played gangster Legs Diamond in two films--Budd Boetticher's THE RISE AND FALL OF LEGS DIAMOND (1960) and PORTRAIT OF A MOBSTER (1961)--before becoming a hack director of horror films (THE DEATHMASTER, 1972; PSYCHIC KILLER, 1976) and television programs.
