Club Paradise Reviews

Williams is a Chicago fireman who has an accident, collects big from the insurance company, and moves to a Caribbean Island where he falls in love with Twiggy. Williams gets involved with Cliff, who owns this little place that needs some money to fix it up, and the two become partners. They turn the place into a tacky version of Club Med. The catch is that the prime minister (Caesar) is in cahoots with a real estate tycoon, and they want the property. This picture must have sounded better than it turned out. Williams handles his role simply as a reactor with none of his manic energy captured on screen. CLUB PARADISE does have its moments, but they are not enough to sustain it. The movie is a succession of shticks--which, when they succeed, are very funny. Unfortunately, not all of them succeed.
