Class of Nuke 'em High 3: Good/Bad/Subhumanoid Reviews

The Troma Team specializes in outrageous, gory, absurd comedies, and the original CLASS OF NUKE 'EM HIGH is one of their most entertaining films. Its second sequel, however, consists mostly of outtakes from CLASS OF NUKE 'EM HIGH 2, and is so inferior that it will disappoint even die-hard Troma fans. In the previous movie, the Nukamama company, led by Dr. Slag, PhD (John Tallman), had created powerful and dangerous subhumanoids. Mayor Roger Smith (Brick Bronsky) saved the town, and now marries the one remaining subhumanoid. She dies as she gives birth to twins. Slag kidnaps the first baby, Dick, and Roger brings home the second, Adlai. No one knows that two children were born. Slag, who knows that Dick has an unlimited source of power, plans to harness the child for evil ends. The twins become full grown in 19 months. Adlai (also played by Bronsky) attends the Tromaville Institute of Technology and falls in love with his former wet nurse, Trish. Dick (Bronsky again) is given a lobotomy and becomes a slave to Slag's demands. Adlai is a hero after he saves Tromaville from a potential fallout. When Slag discovers that the second subhumanoid exists, he sends Dick into town to impersonate Adlai. Dick beats up innocent people and the town turns against Adlai. Slag kidnaps Adlai, who discovers Dick and psychically communicates with him. The power of their psychic link breaks Slag's evil spell over Dick. The twins join forces and melt each other down. Slag's plan is foiled. A new baby subhumanoid is born from their remains. One of the charms of Troma films is that their shamelessness. Blatant references to previous Troma releases abound, as posters plaster the walls, the narrator constantly refers to the events of the previous NUKE 'EM HIGH films, and the Toxic Avenger shows up at Adlai's door. However, the filmmakers make no attempt at a quality product, and the production values are atrocious. The acting is terrible, and while some of the special effects are suitably disgusting, others are ridiculous. The editing is nonexistent, and the story line is almost impossible to follow. The slipshod nature of CLASS OF NUKE 'EM HIGH 3 can partly be explained by Troma's frugal use of leftover scenes from previous films. With the use of Adlai's silly narration, outtakes and sequences from CLASS OF NUKE 'EM HIGH 2 are integrated into the new story even though they don't fit into the current plot. Most of the jokes fall flat, but the overall goofy atmosphere keeps the film from being completely unwatchable. The video includes an irreverent introduction from the producers, a scene that is more entertaining than the film itself.(Graphic violence, extensive nudity, sexual situations, extreme profanity.)
