Children of the Damned Reviews

In this film's predecessor, VILLAGE OF THE DAMNED, all the "Damned" children on Earth were destroyed. So, the "Damned" children in this film are different and not directly related to their space-sired cousins. In this loose adaptation of John Wyndham's The Midwich Cuckoos, six children are born worldwide with genius IQ's, destructive dispositions, and ray-gun eyes. They are not born as a result of some space rapist, but seem to be premature samplings of man as he will evolve in a million years. The children are brought together by UNESCO investigators Badel and Hendry, and, though highly intelligent, remain as children, to become pawns in a love-hate relationship between the two investigators. While being studied by scientists and threatened by the military, the children escape. They seek refuge in a church, where they are accidentally blown up. It seems the children's grim purpose on earth is to be destroyed in a violent manner, enabling fearful, warlike, and ignorant modern man to learn a valuable lesson about himself.
