Six 19th-century shipwreck victims are rescued by the skipper of a modernistic submarine and taken to a fantastic subterranean metropolis that he uses as a base of operations for his war against mankind. Based on a Jules Verne tale.

Half a dozen people, Chuck Connors among them, are rescued from a foundering ship by Robert Ryan and his submarine. They are taken to Ryan's utopia, the domed underwater city of Templemer, where everything is made of gold. Their attempts to escape take a back seat to the sets and special effects. While this is mostly kid stuff, adults may enjoy it, too.
