Caboblanco Reviews

This lackluster remake of CASABLANCA updates the story by setting it after WW II in Peru. Giff Hoyt (Charles Bronson, in the Bogart role) is an American expatriate who operates a dive in a small village run by villainous Nazi-on-the-run Gunther Beckdorff (Jason Robards), who has police captain Tereda (Fernando Rey) in his pocket. Beautiful Frenchwoman Marie Claire Allesandri (Dominique Sanda) arrives in town to search for her lover, who went down on a ship carrying $22 million worth of gold.
