Affair With a Stranger Reviews

An item in a gossip column sets off a chain reaction among friends of a writer and his wife who are reportedly breaking up. As the story is told in flashbacks, we see their meeting, the struggling playwright, the beauteous model, and the birth of their child, who dies on the opening night of the father's first play. Simmons adopts another child and Mature feels she no longer cares about his career. He begins playing around with sexy Lewis, the star of his new show--a tame affair that makes it into the gossip column, thus having the film come full circle. Simmons, however, is understanding and takes back her straying husband. A mediocre dose of suds and tears. Song: "Kiss and Run" (Sam Coslow, sung by Monica Lewis).
