A Wicked Woman Reviews

Christians is married to a sadistic drunk whom she ends up killing to protect her children. She hides the body in a nearby swamp and moves her family to a new location. After 10 years guilt catches up with her and she confesses to the crime. Bickford, a newsman covering the trial, falls for her and the two are united after her children testify that the murder was committed in self-defense. Christians gets off and all is well again. Essentially this was just soap opera, but Christians, a noted Viennese actress, conveys an honesty that gives the material a dramatic boost. Parker, her daughter, gets involved with Taylor in one of the film's subplots. Taylor was making his feature debut here after working in a much hailed short, BURIED LOOT. As the caddish young man he shows none of the talents for which he would later be acclaimed.
