Wisdom stars as a simple butcher's assistant who raises a ruckus in a hospital where his boss is undergoing surgery to remove a watch he swallowed. While getting kicked out, Wisdom puts a smile on the face of an injured, recently orphaned young girl, and he vows to come back and see her. He tries every way he can to regain entry--catching pneumonia, getting hit by a car, and finally showing up on TV for a charity ball, knowing that the young girl will be watching. A charming and sentimental piece of characterization from Wisdom.
