Mills is a very plain young woman who escorts her rich aunt, de Banzie, to Singapore. De Banzie drowns in the hotel swimming pool, and Mills finds herself in possession of her aunt's money and jewels. She buys new clothes and discovers how good-looking she can be, getting chased by many men, including gigolo Kapoor. She leaves for England with a parrot from Kapoor and newly found confidence.
