A Global Affair Reviews

Hope is a United Nations department head who finds an abandoned baby in the UN building. Since no one knows who the baby is or where he's from, Hope is wooed by a variety of international beauties in a strange contest to see which country will get the kid. Hope finally decides to keep the baby and delivers a speech to the General Assembly about international brotherhood. There are some good laughs for Hope and a nice supporting cast, but the plot is pretty standard and predictable. Hope's final speech is unbelievably pretentious. Look for Adlai Stevenson's walk-on and sports legend Rafer Johnson's brief bit. Songs include "So Wide the World" (sung by Vic Dana), "Fais Do Do," "A Global Affair," Dorcas Cochran, Dominic Frontiere.
